Sometimes The Easy Way Is Not The Best Way! - Matthew 16
One minute Peter declares that Jesus is the Christ and is praised by Jesus. The next minute Jesus was rebuking Peter and telling him that he is being used by Satan??? What caused this shift? When you read this passage it seems that Peter was just looking out for Jesus best interests because he did not want Jesus to suffer and be crucified. Jesus response was that sometimes suffering is necessary in our lives and he told Peter that if he wanted to follow Him, he must also take up his cross and follow Jesus example.
