If We Really Believe This... - Luke 2

Have a (Mary) Christmas! - Luke 10
It is very easy to get caught up in the madness that surrounds Christmas and forget what it is really all about. This is nothing new. In Luke 10 we find the story of Jesus coming to visit Mary and Martha. Both are excited about Jesus being there, but they each react to his presence in completely different ways. In fact, one the sisters actually gets upset with Jesus...the one she was trying to show her appreciation to. We would never do anything like that during the Christmas season???

Job - You Are Not God! - Job 38-40
In this final sermon on Job we get to hear Gods response to Job and it may not be what we want to hear. In Gods response He does not answer any of Jobs questions. In fact, He very plainly states that He (God) does not owe Job an answer. God demonstrates that He is sovereign even though He loves Job. It is our job to simply trust God based on our experince of who He is.

Worship That Satan Cannot Comprehend! - Job 1,2
In the midst of significant trials in the life of Job, Job responded by stating, [Naked I came from my mothers womb, And naked shall I return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord.] Satan was convinced that the only reason anyone would serve God is for what we can get from Him, but God used Job to show Satan what true worship looks like. We invite you to join us as we explore the response of Job to the extreme adversity that he was facing in his life.

There Is More To Life Than What We Can See! - Job 1
In this series we will look at the life of Job. God described Job to Satan as being blameless and upright! In this passage of scripture we are given a rare opportunity to look behind the spiritual veil and listen in on a conversation between Satan and God. From this we learn what an upright person looks like, that Satan has to ask permission from God before he attacks Job, and we are brought to realize that sometimes there may be more going on in our world than meets the eye.

How To Save A Life - Galatians 6:1-2
It is sometimes easy to forget that there is more to Christianity than our relationship with God and learning all we can about Him. The New Testament over and over mentions the phrase - One Another. We are to love One Another, serve One Another, pray for One Another, and in Galatians 6 bear One Anothers burdens. True Christianity is about getting involved in other peoples lives. In this sermon we will look at some practical advice on how to get involved when someone is struggling.

Fallen From Grace - Galatians 5
At an initial glance it may appear that the phrase FALLEN FROM GRACE may apply to someone who has sinned and done something wrong and as a result has fallen from grace. However, when put this into context with the previous chapters in Galatians we discover that it means something completely different. In this devotion we will again be reminded how wonderful our relationship with God really can be once we stop trying to work to be accepted by God and finally learn that when we are saved we already are accepted by God.

Family Does Not Knock - Galatians 4
Why not make your kids knock before entering the front door of your house? The reason is obvious. It is because they are your children and the house is their house to use because they are a part of the family. In Galatians 4, Paul explores the question of why we think we have to knock before approaching God. He emphasizes that we are not slaves, but we are the children of God. So we need to stop acting like strangers and approach our heavenly Father as though we are his family.

How Shall We Escape If We Neglect So Great A Salvation? - Hebrews 2
God has gone to great lengths to reveal Himself to us and demonstrate His love. In Hebrews 2 we find that God does not take it lightly when we know what He has done for us and choose to do nothing about it. He reminds us through examples in the Old Testament that He will judge sin, disobedience and indifference. To not accept Gods sacrificial love and forgiveness is an insult to Him that results in catastrophic consequences.

How Much Proof Do You Need? - John 14
It seems that when it comes to our faith in God that we are almost always wanting a little more proof. Regardless of what God has given us in His Word and how He has revealed Himself in our lives, too often because of our insecurities we still want more evidence. In John 14 Jesus tells Philip that sometimes we need to stop looking for more proof and begin to act by faith on what we know.

I Think I Believe??? - Hebrews 12
We often look at people in the Bible like Moses, Noah, Abraham... and are in awe of the incredible things they accomplished. However, in Hebrews 11 God reveals to us that the reason they are found in the HALL Of FAITH is not because of what they did, but rather it was their willingness to simply believe that God was who He claimed to be and then to allow that belief to affect the way they lived their lives. God does not expect us to do the amazing things. He just wants us to have enough faith in Him to believe that He can do the amazing through us.

When Sennacherib Comes - 2 Kings 18 and 19
Hezekiah was a man who God described as definitely trying to do it right. Even though his heart was right, when the Assyrian King Sennacherib came to conquer him his first response was to try to solve it on his own. In this passage we will see that what we really need to do is to lay our problems before The Lord and then learn to trust in Him.

He Is Risen
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John all describe what happened to Jesus when He was crucified from an eyewitness perspective, but if we want to discover what was happening to Jesus as He hung on the cross from Jesus perspective we need to look at a passage in Isaiah 53 that was written hundreds of years before Jesus was even born. Palm Sunday - More Than Feelings
In Matthew 21 the account of Palm Sunday reveals much about human nature and the expectations of Jesus. The crowd in Jerusalem flip-flopped from worshipping Jesus on Palm Sunday to yelling CRUCIFY HIM! one week later. As we unpack this passage we discover that we must have more than just an emotional response to Jesus. We also find that Jesus deals very harshly with those who know what they should do, but choose to do otherwise.

What should we do to be cleaned? How can we be cured of our spiritual diseases? The answer is simple: wash, and be cleaned. Cease to do evil, learn to do good. But that simple answer is often unsatisfying. Sometimes we want something much bigger, something immediate and powerful that heals us in an instant. In those times, we are like Naaman.
